CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Richard Gump, 45 of Waynesburg. Gump was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on July 11.

On May 3, Sergeant Gregory Neeper of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Gump with theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Sgt. Neeper states that in April, the Clearfield Borough Police began an investigation into a theft that occurred at local bank. Upon investigation, it was found that Gump had unlawfully obtained money while at the bank on April 6.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and a hearing was held in Gump’s absence during which all charges were held for Court.

Shaw stated that on July 28, troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Waynesburg

Barracks, apprehended Gump in Green County, and he was taken into custody without incident.  Gump is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.

Shaw thanked the Pennsylvania State Police for their hard work and assistance with this case.
