- A person(s) removed 35 feet of three-eighth copper tubing and 75 feet of 12/2 copper wire sometime between 6 p.m. Aug. 14 and 5:30 p.m. Friday along Firebreak Road in Pine Township. Total value of the stolen items is $400. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, a person(s) obtained the keys to Utilities Forestry Services Inc. Ford F-150 pick-up truck and drove to a location along Grassflat Avenue. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- At 1 p.m. Saturday, an incident of burglary was reported during which the person(s) broke into a 64-year-old Maytown man’s camp and stole a chain saw. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clearfield-based state police at 814-857-3800.
- At 12 p.m. Saturday, an incident of theft was reported during which the person(s) stole various items from a camp along old Turnpike Avenue. Several large items were taken, including a stainless steel cooler and a Snapper riding mower. The investigation is ongoing at this time. - A hit-and-run accident was reported at approximately 4:40 p.m. Friday along Interstate 80 at mile marker 135 westbound in Cooper Township. A 2008 Ford van was traveling in the left lane, while a Chevrolet Impala operated by Jeffrey Alan Wolff, 42, of Ridgway was traveling in the right. At the time, the van passed the Wolff vehicle but failed to clear before changing lanes. The van’s trailer struck the left front of the Wolff vehicle with its right rear. The van then continued west and stopped at a service station at exit 133. Wolff followed and confronted the van’s operator at the service station. The van’s operator refused to provide Wolff with any of his information and fled west on I-80. The van is white in color with New York registration; it was pulling a yellow enclosed trailer. - A hit-and-run accident was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday along Interstate 80 at mile post 133 westbound in Morris Township. An unknown tractor-trailer was traveling in the left lane, and a freightliner operated by Christopher J. Dicken, 40, of Sylvania, OH was traveling in the right lane. At the time, the tractor-trailer passed Dicken and sideswiped his freightliner with its right side. The tractor-trailer continued to travel west without stopping, and Dicken wasn’t able to obtain any identifying information. - An incident of simple assault/harassment was reported at approximately 10:25 p.m. Friday in Woodward Township. A 27-year-old Beccaria man allegedly subjected a 23-year-old Houtzdale woman to physical contact, causing injury. He also subjected a 19-year-old Houtzdale woman to physical contact in a harassing nature. He was taken into custody and arraigned. Charges have been filed against him through the district court.
