BRADY TOWNSHIP – A Clearfield man suffered major injury in an Aug. 9 automobile accident.
According to the state police in DuBois, Phillip A. Simon was traveling west on US Route 322 at too great of speed when he rounded a right curve. His vehicle went across the center line and into the eastbound lane. This caused him to countersteer, and he traveled back into the westbound lane and continued toward the right side of the road. He put on the breaks and steered left; his vehicle skidded about 102 feet to avoid an impact with the railing on the north side of the roadway. He then traveled across the entire roadway and the front end of his vehicle guide rails on the south side of the road. He countersteered right and traveled across the roadway and struck the north guide rails with the front end of his vehicle, at which point his vehicle came to rest.
Simon was taken to Altoona Regional for treatment.
Police were assisted by Brady Township Fire Company.
