Obituary Notice: Agnes M. Belinda

Agnes M. Belinda, 96, of Philipsburg died Friday at Windy Hill Village. Born Jan. 15, 1915 in Lecontes Mills, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel John and Mary M. (Mindek) Belinda.

She was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Louis, #723, Philipsburg.

Also while living in Buffalo, NY, Ms. Belinda was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she was active in the church’s alter and rosary society.

She’d been employed in the food department of the Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, NY for many years until her retirement.

Ms. Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Andy, Mike, John, Steve, Pete and Joe Belinda and two sisters, Margaret Belinda and Helen Kresge.

She’s survived by three sisters, Mary P. Meckley of Clearfield, Catherine Orlosky of Lititz and Hannah Orlosky of Philipsburg, one brother, Fr. Augustine Belinda of Loretto and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg with the Rev. Robert Kelly as celebrant. Interment will be at the St. Marys Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 East Spruce St., Philipsburg.

A vigil service will be conducted by Rev. Kelly and the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 400 South Fourth St., Philipsburg, PA 16866.
