CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers is seeking information relating to a robbery at a residence on Race Street, Clearfield.
Shaw stated that on Sunday, Aug. 7, the Lawrence Township Police responded to a residence on Race Street for a report of a theft. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim, a senior citizen, relayed that he was sitting on the porch of his residence when a woman entered onto the porch and asked him for change for a $20 bill. The victim further relayed that the woman handed him two $1 bills, however he returned those to her when he realized she had not handed him the proper amount. The woman them reached into the victim’s front pocket and unlawfully removed his wallet. The victim also relayed that the woman then ran to her car and left the scene.
The woman was described as being between 20 to 25 years of age, with shoulder length blonde hair, and approximately 5 feet, 5 inches to 6 feet in height. The woman was further described as wearing a yellow tank top shirt and khaki capri pants at the time of the incident. Additionally, her vehicle was described as a Gold or Silver Chevrolet car.
Shaw reported that the woman obtained the victim’s wallet which contained approximately $80.00 in U.S. currency, the victim’s Elks Card, and the victim’s insurance card. Shaw also reported that the incident is currently under investigation by the Lawrence Township Police Department. Shaw stated that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers is seeking information relating to the robbery on Race Street. Shaw also stated that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the robbery.
