Lois J. Doran, 87 of Osceola Mills and a former resident of Bellmeade Manor in Altoona, passed away on Aug. 7, 2011 at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
Born July 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Elizabeth (Sankey) Tippett.
She was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church; she was retired from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital in the dietary department, and she was a graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School, class of 1942.
On Dec. 19, 1943 in Osceola Mills she wed G. Robert Doran. He passed away on Aug. 29, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marian Wood and brother John Tippett.
She is survived by grandchildren Robert L. Doran Jr., Allen Doran and his wife Misty, Frank C. Baluka III and his wife Melissa and Amanda Chirdon and her husband Scott; great-grandchildren Beth Ann Williams, Jonathan, Justina, Jacob, Molly, Chace Doran and Ronan Chirdon; daughter Kathy Baluka and her husband Frank Jr. of Altoona; son Robert L. Doran and his wife Peg of Woodland; and sister Evelyn Supko and her husband Robert of Treasure Lake.
The funeral will be held on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church witht he Rev. Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Burial will be at the Umbrial Cemetery in Osceola Mills. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceoal Mills and at the church on Friday at 10 a.m. until funeral time.
