- At 9:50 p.m. Friday, a 26-year-old Sykesville woman failed to bring her vehicle to a halt at a stop sign and subsequently struck another driven by Diane Neeper, 59, of Curwensville. The first operator wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and suffered a head injury. Neeper wasn’t injured in the accident. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Police were assisted at the scene by Simbeck’s Towing.
- A two-vehicle accident was reported at approximately 5:10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Deer Creek Road and the Allport Cutoff. A vehicle driven by Ronald E. Tussey, 66, of Karthaus was at the intersection when Amber Lynn McGonigal, 19, of Karthaus was traveling north on the Allport Cutoff. The Tussey vehicle entered the intersection but failed to observe the McGonigal vehicle, which struck the front, passenger’s side of his vehicle. Both operators were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, and both vehicles sustained minor damage. McGonigal was transported to the Clearfield Hospital because her air bags deployed. She was treated and released. Police were assisted at the scene by the Morris Township Fire Company and the Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services.
- At 1:57 a.m. Sunday, a 38-year-old Morrisdale man was stopped for a traffic violation along state Route 53 near the Bigler – Allport Cutoff and arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are currently pending the blood test results.
