CLEARFIELD – The “blue-eyed soul” sound of Bill Medley, one half of the duo known as the Righteous Brothers entertained an enthusiastic and slightly damp audience at the Clearfield County Fair on Tuesday.

Despite a little bit of rain, the audience appeared to be ready to hear some blues music. Medley entered the stage singing. Following his first song, he spoke to the audience about the rain, and was upbeat about performing for the audience, in spite of the rain.

Medley performed crowd favorites and popular songs found in the movies such as “You’re My Soul and Inspiration,” “Unchained Melody,” You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” and “I’ve Had The Time of My Life.”

During the performance of “I’ve Had The Time of My Life,” Medley was joined by his daughter to sing the popular song from the movie Dirty Dancing. He remarked that his daughter was his “retirement plan.”

Medley’s other half of the Righteous Brothers, Bobby Hatfield, passed away in 2003. Forty years after they began performing together, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Medley dedicated the performance of “Unchained Melody” to his friend, singing partner and “brother,” Bobby Hatfield.
