CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced
Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Aug. 1, 2011 Shaw identified the Fugitive as Nicholas Harriger, age 31, of Brookville.Shaw stated that Harriger is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on July 14, 2011.
On Jan. 3, 2011, Officer Orlando Prosper of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Harriger with 1) endangering welfare of children, M1; and 2) simple assault, M1.
An affidavit of probable Cause filed by Officer Prosper states that in July 2010, the DuBois City Police Department began an investigation into an assault on a seven month old child. Upon investigation, it was found that Harriger was the father of the child and that the child had sustained a fracture to the right femur while in Harriger’s care.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 28, 2011, at which time all charges were held for court. On July 14, 2011, Harriger failed to appear for Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
