Obituary Notice: Pauline Mary Bennett

Pauline Mary Bennett, 80, of Curwensville died Thursday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was the last member of her generation.

Born June 23, 1931 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Eugene and Lauretta (Baurer) Callahan. She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville.

Mrs. Bennett first worked as the head cashier at the former Super Duper Market, Clearfield. She then worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the Driver’s License Office, Clearfield. 

On Nov. 26, 1953 in Williamsport, she wed Clarence T. “Sonny” Bennett, whom survives along with a son, Patrick Bennett and his wife, Denise of Curwensville.  Also surviving are two grandsons, Daniel Bennett and his wife, Missy of Hollidaysburg and Joseph Bennett and his wife, Michelle of Grampian and two great-grandchildren, Alison and Matthew Bennett of Hollidaysburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Catherine Vogel and Ruth Folk and two brothers, Harold and Bernard Callahan. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 12 – 1:15 p.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville when the procession will depart for the church.

The Rosary will be recited by members of St. Timothy’s Altar and Rosary Society Sunday at 3 p.m. with a Scripture Vigil Service to be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home.
