Heather M. Bainey, 29 of Phililpsburg, passed away on July 21, 2011.
Born Feb. 15, 1982, she was the daughter of George Jr. and Wendy Bainey, who survive in Philipsburg.
She was of Protestant faith. She was a member of the 2005 US international softball team, which played across several countries in Europe. She also set numerous records and received many awards in softball at the high school and collegiate levels. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, nieces, nephews and her dog Layla.
She was formerly employed by Sinclair Child Services and Aramark Vending Services.
She was a 2000 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School and in 2005 received her Bachelor of science in sports medicine and recreation management from Bethany College, Bethany, WV. She earned her Master of education degree from St. Francis University, Loretto, in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Bainey Sr.
She is survived by daughter Bryer Renee Cutler of Phililpsburg; brothers George Bainey III and his wife Susan of Stafford, VA, Jason Bainey and his wife Janelle of Morrisdale and Corey Bainey and his wife Tiffany of Julian; maternal grandparents Donald and Lyla Jarrett of Ramey; paternal grandmother June Bailey of Osceola Mills; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on July 24 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating.
Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Visitation will be held on July 23 from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-2 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home.
