Pedestrian Sustains “Moderate” Injuries in Hit-and-run Accident

FALLS CREEK – A 32-year-old pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was flown to the Altoona Hospital after a hit-and-run accident at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday along state Route 950 approximately one mile south of Falls Creek Borough.

The DuBois-based state police reported the female was jogging southbound on SR 950 and was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The vehicle’s mirror is believed to be from a 2002 to 2007 Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban or Tahoe.

The vehicle is possibly light in color and will have a damaged passenger side mirror that is missing its glass, insides and plastic front cover, state police said.
