Raisa, a yearling cow, was the star of this Philipsburg’s Heritage Days’ Cowchip Bingo.
Raisa, owned by Gretchen Little, is part of Dreamguest Dairy in Bellfonte. For the first time in a few years a relative local was the source of the cow. Gretchen’s father, Chris Little, is a Philipsburg native.
Four hundred tickets were sold this year at $5 a piece. Of the revenue, $300 will go to the winner with the rest split between the Philipsburg YMCA’s arts program and Heritage Days. This is the YMCA’s second year operating the event.
“We had a lot of support from the community, which we are grateful for,” said Darla Karimushan.
