Damage Estimated at $10,000 after Johnsonburg Fire

JOHNSONBURG – Damage is estimated at $10,000 after a fire at a 331 First Ave. residence at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Johnsonburg Borough, Elk County, the Ridgway-based state police reported.

According to the report, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, the Johnsonburg Borough Police Department and the Johnsonburg Fire Department conducted an origin and cause investigation into a fire that damaged a two-story, wooden frame residential dwelling. The cause was accidental in nature, state police said.

The residents of the home were sleeping at the time of the fire and were alerted by a neighbor and smoke detectors. No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to a second-floor bedroom.
