Obituary Notice: Anna (Rebon) Greenaway

Anna (Rebon) Greenaway, 93, of Madera died on Friday at the Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield.

Born on Dec. 22, 1917 in Boardman, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Justine (Moslak) Rebon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Madera United Methodist Church.

An active member in the church, she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years as well as served on the Church Council’s Evangelical Committee. She was also a mentor and a member of the United Methodist Women.

On Oct. 16, 1936 in Cumberland, MD, she wed Robert J. Greenaway Sr., whom preceded her in death Sept. 19, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Joseph Rebon and John Rebon and three sisters, Mary Raab, Veronica Shaffer and Justine Rebo.

Mrs. Greenaway is survived by three sons, Robert Greenaway Jr. and his wife, Frances of Madera; John Greenaway and his wife, Sue Ann of Ramey; Walter Greenaway and his wife, Rebecca of Milroy; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

She’s also survived by two brothers, Domonick Rebon of Niagara Falls, NY and Charles Rebon of Youngstown, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Homes Inc., 254 Lynn St., Madera and from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Madera United Methodist Church, 96 Spruce St., Madera with Pastor Robert Ford officiating.  Interment will follow in Alexander Cemetery.
