Born Jan. 10, 1929 in Bells Landing, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Ruth Virginia (Brown) McKee Sr. He worked as a mechanic for several trucking companies and also partly owned the McKee Tractor Service Allis Chalmers.
He loved music and hunting and was a member of the Glen Richey Volunteer Fire Departent, the Olanta Lutheran Church and the Patriotic Order Sons of America.
Mr. McKee wed the former Bonetta Maxine “Mickey” Kerr on June 4, 1949, whom preceded him in death on June 18, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, Drew A. and Steven S. Edwards, a brother, Donald and a sister, Artensa.
Surviving are four children Linda Edwards and her husband, Robert and Cindy Penvose and her husband, Terry, both of Olanta, Preston McKee and his wife, Eva of Grassflat and Dean McKee and his wife, Deborah of Allport.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother Edward McKee Jr. of Olanta, as well as aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. McKee will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Olanta Lutheran Church, Route 453 Olanta, with Mr. Gary Jewart officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
