Katherine Rissmiller, 87 of Port Matilda, formerly of: State College and Cape Coral, FL, passed away on June 30, 2011 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg
Born Feb. 17, 1924 in Port Matilda, she was the daughter of the late John and Elverda (Cowher) Blazosky.
On July 27, 1946 at Port Matilda Methodist Church she wed Edward Rissmiller, who survives in Port Matilda.
She is survived by children:
Kay Lipsitz of York, PA
Michael Rissmiller of Raleigh, NC
Dennis Rissmiller of Port Matilda, PA

Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Clair Blazosky.
Katy was a 1942 graduate of Port Matilda High School and was employed at Penn State University for 23 years in the records office.
Katy and Edward lived in Port Matilda until 1956 when they moved to State College. After they both retired in 1985, Katy and her husband moved to Cape Coral, FL.
She was a 50+ year member of the Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church of State College.
A memorial service will be held at Port Matilda Methodist Church on July 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lysa Gibbs officiating. Burial will be at the Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
