Suspect Doesn’t Misuse Weapon, Faces Public Intoxication Charges
CLEARFIELD – A large assault weapon was discovered by the Lawrence Township Police Department during its investigation of a reported disturbance at 11:22 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the report, police responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Daisy Street Extension. At arrival, they found a highly intoxicated male who was standing outside of his vehicle, which had two flat tires.
The man was taken into custody, but during their investigation, police found a large assault weapon in the rear portion of the suspect’s vehicle. The weapon was identified by police as an AK-47.
The weapon wasn’t misused in any way during the incident, police said. The man was transported to the Clearfield County Jail for public intoxication charges.
