John Ross Runk, 89 of Pendleton, NY and formerly of Philipsburg, passed away on May 18, 2011 at the Millard Fillmore Hospital, NY.
Born: Sept. 6, 1921 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Ross Raymond and Virginia G. (Harkless) Runk.
He is survived by his wife, Verna (Wiley) Runk and daughter, Cheryl Runk, both of Pendleton, NY.
Preceded in death by: his parents and his son, John Roger Runk who passed away on Jan. 19, 2006.
He served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946 where he later transferred to the Air Force, retiring as Master Sergeant in 1980 after 30 years where he was an Inspector NDI Lab Technician.
A private graveside service was held June 22 at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg.
