CLEARFIELD – Have you had a taste of “Clearfield?”  Don’t be left behind as many others have tasted the new “Clearfield” All-America City wine by Starr Hill Winery, as they partnered with the Clearfield Revitalization Corporation, (CRC) on this project. “Clearfield” is a benefit wine, where a dollar per bottle sold goes directly back to the CRC. Owner of Starr Hill Winery Kenn Starr presents a $700 check to the Main Street Manager Kellie Truman who is receiving the donation on behalf of the CRC.

Main Street Manager Kellie Truman explainesd the partnership, “This wine represents exactly what the CRC stands for, which is bringing attention to the best of what our area has to offer.” Clearfield wine could be a welcomed conversation favor for any local business to give to clients and employees this year. As well, with it’s beautiful red, white, and blue “All-America City” label, this Clearfield wine could be a perfect feature beverage at large picnics, weddings and dinner parties this summer.”

Owner of Starr Hill, Kenn Starr said, “There are only about 25 cases of the wine left, distributed between the winery, the outlet in the Clearfield Mall, Philipsburg and St. Mary’s. Once these 2011 bottles are gone, consumers will not be able to purchase the same label again, as the label will change every year making it a collectors series.”

Local artist Ian Aughinbaugh designed the label for the 2011 Clearfield Edition, and the new 2012 will be introduced with a new design in February, debuting at the Groundhog Wine Trail Festival. No worries for those who enjoy the concord grape taste of Clearfield, as the blend will remain the same next year.

The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation, (CRC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity promoting the preservation and traditional use of downtown Clearfield. The future of the CRC depends on local contributions and partnerships. If you would like to make a contribution, please send it to CRC, PO Box 75, Clearfield, PA 16830.
