Bonetta Maxine McKee, 79, of Olanta, passed away June 18, 2011 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 19, 1931 in North Point, Indiana County, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Gladys (Jordan) Kerr. Mrs. McKee was retired from Riverside Markets in Clearfield, PA after 19 years of service in the deli and as a cashier.
She was a member of the Olanta Lutheran Church, the Daughters of the Patriotic Order Sons of America, the Olanta Women’s Bible Club, the Olanta Ladies Aid Society, the Glen Richey Fireman’s Auxiliary, and a member of the former Curwensville Community Band.
On June 4, 1949 in Curwensville, she wed A. Preston McKee, who survives along with 4 children. Linda Edwards and her husband Robert and Cindy Penvose and her husband Terry both of Olanta, Preston McKee and his wife Eva of Grassflat and Dean McKee and his wife Deborah of Allport.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters Bessie Rowles of Olanta and Peg Caldwell of Indiana as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. McKee will be held at the Olanta Lutheran Church Rt. 453, Olanta, on June 24 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Gary B. Jewart and Reverend Charles Taber Jr. co-officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Pike Township, Curwensville, PA.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on June 23 from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.
