Dorothy T. ‘Aunt Dot’ Robeson, 99 of Curwensville died on June 9, 2011 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
She was born on April 3, 1912 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late William J. and Leona (Batchler) Twigg.
Mrs. Robeson was a homemaker and was previously employed by PennDOT and the former Clearfield Cheese.
She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grampian, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Clearfield Chapter Number 379 and a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was like a mother figure to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lawrence Robeson on Dec. 25, 1964, three sisters, Helen Morris, Betty T. Shaffer and Marjorie Morgan and a brother Jack Twigg.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Morris, Dorothy’s nephew, officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 6 Sixth Street, Grampian or to the charity of one’s choice.
