CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library invites all area youth to travel the world this summer as part of the annual summer reading program, which begins on June 13. Let the Journey Begin will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with games and activities from different parts of the world.
For those participants who have already registered online for the One World, Many Stories summer reading program, the kickoff event is the first opportunity to pick up the registration packet. Each registration packet includes a brochure of activities and events scheduled throughout the summer. In addition, anyone who registers online for the program and picks up the registration packet by June 17 will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize.
On June 13, participants can begin reading and logging books and minutes in order to earn incentives. All prizes can be redeemed at the Souvenir Shop beginning July 11.
The summer reading program is open to all youth ages birth through the completion of sixth grade and all young adults who have completed seventh grade through eleventh grade. In addition, adults and recent high school graduates may also register for the adult summer reading program. All registrations for the summer reading program must be completed online at Shaw Public Library’s website. Participants may continue to register for the summer reading program online throughout the summer and visit the library to pick up their registration packet. Patrons without access to the Internet or with concerns about the online registration process may come to the library during normal business hours to receive assistance.
