Mary O. Muckey, 87, of Osceola Mills died Sunday at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.

Born Aug. 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Anna (Drochak) Olenoski. She was Catholic by faith.

Mrs. Muckey was a domestic worker for the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, for 40 years. She was a Rosie The Riveter during World War II.

She wed Eugene D. Muckey, whom preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1979. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James D. Muckey, an infant daughter and three sisters, Anna Kopcik, Eva Gustkey, Pauline Wisiewski and four brothers, Alex, Peter, Mike and Joseph Olenoski.

Mrs. Muckey is survived by two daughters, Lila M. Fugate of San Diego, CA and Barbara A. Small and her husband, Allan of Margaretville, NY and two sons, Richard S. Muckey and Daniel g. Muckey, both of Osceola Mills.

She’s survived by five sisters, Helen Muhaw of Coalport; Theresa Kula and her husband, Lou of St. Charles, IL; Delores Bradford of Atlantic City, NJ; Catherine Olenoski of Cleveland, OH; and Jeanette Gmerek of Bamberg, SC; and one brother, Richard Olenoski and his wife, Darlene of Genoa City, WI.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Matthew Fugate, Eugenia Fugate, Chad Muckey, Courtney Muckey, Andrew Small and Mary Small and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Heath Funeral Home with the Rev. William Walker and the Rev. Glen Williams co-officiating. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contribution may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
