COALPORT – The Coalport Center for Active Living will be hosting an open house on May 18 and individuals of all ages are invited. Refreshments will be served and various activities will be held throughout the day. The RSVP Quilters will be demonstrating the classic art of quilting from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., the local CPAC (Coalition for People Against Cancer) will conduct their monthly meeting.
The center will also hold a craft and plant sale featuring handmade crafts by center participants and plants grown in the center. The Coalport Center for Active Living will also be selling chances on their spring raffle. Chances are a $.50 donation for one or a $1 donation for three. Prizes include a handmade terra cotta planter person, a handmade picnic bag with separate beverage holder, and a handmade picnic bag with picnic items. The drawing will be held during the Coalport Street Fair on June 18, 2011 and the winners do not need to be present.
Those interested in having lunch at the Center are asked to call 814-672-3574 the day before the event to make a meal reservation. Any Clearfield County resident 60 years of age or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis. The cost to those under age 60 is $3.00.
