Clearfield Man Waives Hearing on Drug Charges

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of being in possession of a number of illegeal drugs waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Daniel Weaver faces charges of: manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered (three counts); and use/possession of drug paraphernlia.

According to the affidavit of probabl cause, on March 29 police served a warrant on Weaver at Lawrence Park Village. While attempting to serve the warrant they noticed him putting his hands in his pockets after being ordered to stop. After he was apprehended, he turned over to police a cell phone, glass pipe, a tied plastic bag containig seven stamp bags of heroin marked “Street Life’, a tied plastic bag containing 22 tablets of ecstacy, and a rolled plastic bag sealed with saliva containing mushrooms.

Weaver was questioned and admitted the drugs were his and that he had smoked marijuana.

The pills were field tested and came back positive for MDMA (ecstacy), and the stamp bag was positive for heroin.
