Temporary Signals in Place for Route 219 Bridgework near Burnside

CLEARFIELD – Area drivers will encounter temporary signals as replacement work gets underway May 2 on the US Route 219/Sawmill Run Bridge near Burnside in Clearfield County. The temporary signals will enforce an alternating traffic pattern as crews work to replace the current bridge with a new box culvert.

This project will replace the Sawmill Run Bridge and the Beaver Run Bridge, which is close by on US Route 219. The Beaver Run Bridge already has temporary signals due to a restriction put in place last year. Replacement work on the Beaver Run Bridge is expected to begin in June as work on Sawmill Run Bridge continues.

The contractor on this $1.8 million project is C. H. and D. Enterprises of New Stanton, PA. PennDOT expects both bridges to be complete in mid-October.
