Sara L. Mikelonis, 88, of DuBois died Saturday at Christ the King Manor.
Born on June 3, 1922 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Frances (Kartavich) Carmella. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mikelonis was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where she was active in the Outreach Dinner Program. She was also a former member of the Lithuanian Club Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
On Aug. 30, 1947, she married Leo “Litts” Mikelonis. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Gail Boyles of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Paul Mikelonis and his wife, Patsy of Clifton, AZ; one brother, Angelo Carmella and his wife, Elizabeth of DuBois; and one granddaughter, Meghan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Geraldine Mulgrew.
There will be a private family viewing at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
