Ruth P. McKolanis, 91, of DuBois died Friday at the Agape Senior Nursing Home in Conway, SC.
Born Dec. 6, 1919 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Sarah M. (Frantz) Walker.
Mrs. McKolanis retired from B.F. Goodrich in DuBois after 26 years of service. She was an American Red Cross volunteer for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Friendly Club and enjoyed sewing and reading.
She was married to Joseph S. McKolanis Feb. 24, 1973. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She’s survived by two daughters, Ruth “Marlene” Saari of Wexford and Sarah M. Hughes and her husband, James of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Mildred Yonushonis of Falls Creek; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Ross; one sister, Mary Brown and five brothers, Fred, Paul, Sylvester, John, and Burnell Walker.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
