Raymond C. Hughes, 80, of Osceola Mills died Thursday at Windy Hill Villages, Philipsburg.
Born Jan. 23, 1931 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Margaret A. (Powers) Hughes. He was affiliated with the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills.
Mr. Hughes was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He was retired from the Bureau of Standards, Washington, D.C.
He graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School in the class of 1948. He then attended and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hughes is survived by three brothers, Patrick Joseph Hughes and his wife, Maryann of Hamilton, OH; Jerome F. Hughes and his wife, Helen and Norman A. Hughes of Niagara Falls, NY and one sister, Sister Agnes Marie Hughes of Erie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Monday at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Monday.
