CLEARFIELD – Heavy winds from yesterday’s storms caused a number of problems, including damaging an area school.
According to Gant reporter Steven McDole, St. Francis School in Clearfield sustained damage when a portion of the roof was lifted by the heavy winds. This allowed water inside the school. The winds also caused a number of tree limbs to come down on the school’s outside play area.
Gant would like to thank St. Francis’ principal for his cooperation in our report.
Police also reported downed limbs and trees. The Lawrence Township Police Department reported several calls related to the storm. One call was in regards to a large tree on a structure on Riverview Road. The high winds also caused a traffic light cable to break on Industril Park Road.
