WARSAW TOWNSHIP – A 43-year-old Brookville man sustained a “serious injury” following an all-terrain vehicle accident at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on Cemetery Road in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County, the DuBois-based state police reported.
According to the report, Conrad E. Barther, 43, of Brookville, was operating his 2006 Suzuki Eiger north one-half mile south of state Route 28. For unknown reasons, his ATV traveled off the roadway and onto the eastern berm, striking an embankment with its right front.
His ATV subsequently overturned and sandwiched Barther between it and the roadway. He was transported to the Brookville Hospital for treatment of a “serious injury.” He wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Brookville Ambulance.
