Fugitive of the Week: Michael Zukauskas

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of April 25, 2011. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Michael Zukauskas, age 33, of Gainesville, VA.

Shaw stated that Zukauskas is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on Sept. 17, 2009.

On April 4, 2009, Officer Randall Young of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Zukauskas with: 1) driving under the influence, M; 2) careless driving, S; and 3) operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection, S.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Young states that on Feb. 7, 2009, while on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was also observed to have an expired Certificate of Inspection. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Young detected signs of impairment and requested that Zukauskas perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Zukauskas was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 22, 2009, at which time all charges were held for court. On Sept. 17, 2009, Zukauskas failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Height: 5 feet, 10 inches

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Blonde
