CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors heard an update on shared and potential shared services with some of their neighboring municipalities.

Solicitor Jim Naddeo informed the board that an ordinance was ready for a joint appeals board that would service Clearfield Borough, Lawrence Township and Curwensville Borough. Township Supervisor Chairman Bill Lawhead said he would like representatives from the three municipalities, as well as their solicitors, to get together to discuss exactly what the duties of the board would entail.

Supervisor Glenn Johnston commented on reports that Clearfield Borough and Curwensville Borough were willing to talk about a regionlized police force.

“I think that’s a great thing,” said Johnston.

Both boroughs indicated at prior meetings that they were open to discussing the matter.
