George: PennDOT Heavy Equipment and Machinery Auction on Horizon

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Clearfield County, has reminded local governments and residents of an upcoming online auction of heavy equipment and machinery.

“The Department of General Services will be auctioning off 300 lots of used equipment from the state Department of Transportation,” George said.  “I urge local municipalities who may need any of these items to place online bids for purchase.”

A wide array of items heading to the auction block include backhoes, dump trucks, excavators, graders, anti-icing trucks, lowboys, message/arrow boards and more.  A bridge inspection crane is being sold in a special, municipal-only offer.

The equipment is located at PennDOT’s Engineering District 2-0, located off Interstate 80 and US Route 220 at 1054 Ridge Rd., Mill Hall, Clinton County.

Private municipal sale begins at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, and closes at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18.  Municipal previews may be scheduled by appointment.  Payment is due by June 3 and the removal deadline is June 10.

A public sale will open at 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, and lasts through 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14.  A preview will be offered from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, and Thursday, June 9.  Payment is due June 21 and the removal deadline is June 14.

“I encourage anyone interested in this equipment to take advantage of some potentially great deals on these items,” George said.
