James A. Patterson, 84 of South Philipsburg, passed away on April 3, 2011 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Aug. 8, 1926 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late James B. & Mabel F. (Myers) Patterson.
On June 19, 1948 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, he wed Nettie Mae (Helsel) Patterson, who passed away May 9, 1990.

Kris Patterson and his wife Brandie of Philipsburg

Marlena Patterson of Reynoldsville
Jay Patterson of Morrisdale
And two great-grandchildren: Connor Jones and Abigail Van Dyke
He was the last of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Harold Patterson and Melvin Patterson and grandson: Eric Van Dyke
He was owner/operator of Patterson Machine Shop, South Philipsburg
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg for over 50 years. For many years he was the church treasurer.
He was a 1944 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during WWII.
He was an avid rabbit hunter and fisherman. He loved his dogs.
Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on April 6 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Friends will be received at the funeral home on April 5 from 5 until 8 p.m.
