- Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 1:40 a.m. Friday on Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. While on patrol, state police observed a 17-year-old Osceola Mills male’s vehicle traveling the wrong way down a one-way street. He was stopped and found intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested for DUI, underage drinking and traffic violations.
- Police reported an incident if simple assault at 1:30 a.m. Friday at a Berkely Street residence in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. Gregory Millinder, 25, of Philipsburg, was placed in the Centre County Prison in lieu of $50,000 after an incident of domestic violence. He’s been charged with criminal attempt indecent assault, simple assault and summary harassment for an incident during which a known female suffered minor injuries.
- Police reported a single-vehicle accident with minor injuries at 11:25 p.m. Friday on state Route 3040 approximately one-half mile north of Fowler Hollow in Taylor Township, Centre County. A 38-year-old Tyrone man was traveling north, where there was a left curve in the roadway. The man reported two deer standing in the roadway, causing him to apply his brakes to avoid the animals. However, the man struck one deer and lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the southbound lane and traveled off the roadway. His vehicle went into a shallow drainage ditch along the west berm and continued north approximately 100 feet before it came to a rest on its roof. The man was able to crawl out of his vehicle and sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene. He was arrested for driving under the influence as a result of the accident. Police were assisted at the scene by the Port Matilda Fire Company and Halfmoon Towing.
