Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 9:39 p.m. March 30 on state Route 9201 at the westbound rest area of Interstate 80 in Washington Township, Jefferson County. A 62-year-old Pocono Lake man stopped at the rest area at approximately mile marker 88.4 and exited his vehicle. He fell onto the pavement and was helped up by other motorists. He was placed back in his vehicle. He exited his vehicle and fell again before getting into his vehicle and backing out of the parking space. He drove to the end of the parking area and pulled in crooked, taking two spaces. Bystanders were not sure if he was having medical problems and emergency personnel were summoned to the scene. It was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI.
