CLEARFIELD – After two months of attempting warrant service police got their man.
On March 28 at 7:30 p.m., police apprehended 22-year-old Daniel J. Weaver of Curwensville in Lawrence Park Village.
According to the state police, Weaver was wanted on a felony warrant as well as being wanted by state parole. Troopers tried for the last two months to serve their warrant at several locations in the Curwensville and Clearfield area.
After receiving information that Weaver was at an apartment at LPV, a corporal from the state police and a sergeant from the Clearfield Borough Police Department went to the scene. Another trooper took up post behind the apartment complex.
During this time Weaver jumped from a second story window and was ordered to the ground. He instead fled and foot chase began. He was taken to the ground by the corporal and sergeant. Police said Weaver resisted and was eventually tased.
Weaver was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins on the original warrant. He was placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Weaver will face another arraignment today by MDJ Richard Ireland for charged from the CBPD and another set of charge from the state police. A detainer was also placed on him by state parole.
An investigation continues into the people who may have helped to conceal Weaver’s location.
