Obituary Notice: Billy P. Crain

Billy P. Crain, 82 of Clearfield died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on May 5, 1928 in Altoona, a son of the late Albert Oliver and Edna (Scott) Crain. 

Mr. Crain retired in 1992 after 27 years of service from AFLAC where he was a sales manager.  He had also been employed with Murray Ford of DuBois, Gould Ford and McGarvey Farm Equipment, both of Brookville and with Carns Equipment of Clearfield.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clearfield.

Mr. Crain served with the US Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte ‘Tootie’ Logan Crain, whom he wed July 27, 1947 in Reynoldsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom, Harry and Albert Crain, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Achey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11:00 a.m.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 111 N. Second Street, Clearfield.
