- Police reported an incident of theft that occurred sometime between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday along state Route 949, near Cherry Flats, in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A person(s) allegedly arrived and removed a wallet, which contained debit/credit cards, $50 cash and two cellular phones from two St. Marys residents’ kayaks. The incident is still under investigation.
- Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 11:59 p.m. Thursday along Skyline Drive at Dagus Mines Road in Fox Township, Elk County. A 54-year-old Kersey man was stopped for a traffic violation. After a preliminary investigation, he was arrested for DUI and transported for blood testing at the Elk Regional Health Center. Charges are to be filed for DUI and related summary violations through the district court.
- Police reported a two-vehicle accident along state Route 255 approximately one-half mile north of SR 948 in Fox Township, Elk County. A 23-year-old Ridgway man was traveling north on SR 255, when he failed to observe a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Kersey woman slowing during mail delivery. The right, front end of the man’s Chevrolet Blazer struck the left rear of the woman’s Chevrolet Impala. Her vehicle spun around clockwise and came to a rest, facing southeast off the eastern berm of the roadway. The man’s vehicle continued north into the Express Lube entrance. The causatory violations were careless driving and driving vehicle at safe speed, police said. The accident is still under investigation.
- Police reported an incident of theft that occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. March 14 in the area along Water Street Extension in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A person(s) allegedly removed two “Bump” road signs, which were yellow in color with a black border. The signs were valued at $76 per sign. The investigation is ongoing.
