Paul P. Mack, 86, of DuBois, died Tuesday at Christ the King Manor.
Born June 29, 1924 in DuBois, he was a son of the late Lawrence T. and Mary E. Bolam Mack. He was married to Betty T. Nogacek Mack on August 30, 1952 in Adrian, PA. She survives.
Paul was a lifelong resident of DuBois. He graduated from DuBois High School in 1942. He attended Oregon State University, Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA for a 6 week refresher course in Basic Engineering and Dale Carnegie Course during his time in the military. He served in the Army during WWII in the European Theater and fought at the Battle of the Bulge and Omaha Beach between 1943 and 1946. After returning home, he graduated from DuBois Business College in 1948. He was employed by Jackson China for 33 years as Production Control Manager.
Paul was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. He coached basketball at St. Catherine’s grade school and high school. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and served on the DuBois City Council; for 6 years. He was a member of the American Legion where he managed the American Legion Baseball team for 3 years. He was also Past President and coach of DuBois Little League.
Paul is survived by one son, Paul G. Mack of Fairfax, VA; one daughter, Jody (John) Sedor of Sykesville; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving is one sister, Mary Boyle of Akin, SC.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald Mack of Clearfield; and one sister, Patty Mack Groves.
Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at Christ the King Manor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Friday,March 18, 2011 in the chapel with Paul’s nephew, the Very Reverend Jeffery J. Noble as celebrant. Full military Honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
