Kathy Ann Guyan (Photo provided by the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home)

Kathy Ann (Hartley) Guyan, 44, of South Fayette Township, formerly of Clearfield, was called to be with the Lord on March 10, 2001 after a 10 year courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born on May 11, 1966 in Williamsport, a daughter of Mary (Spotts) Hartley of Clearfield and the late Truman Hartley.

Kathy was a1984 graduate of Clearfield Area High School and a proud 1988 graduate of Penn State University, where she met her husband Randy.  They lived in Northern Virginia for many years before the family moved to South Fayette, just outside of Pittsburgh, in 2006.  She was a devoted mother whose greatest joys were watching her three boys grow up into strong young men and attending their many activities. She never let breast cancer stop her from making her sons’ lives as normal as possible. She was an avid scrapbooker spending many hours preserving family memories.  The words most used to describe her by friends are “strong”, “brave” and “inspirational”. Her smile will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Guyan, formerly of Johnstown, whom she married on June 9, 1990,
