Madera Man Seriously Injured in Single-vehicle Accident, Flown to Altoona

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – A 41-year-old Madera man sustained serious injuries and was flown to the Altoona Hospital for medical treatment after a single-vehicle accident during which his vehicle struck a tree.

The Clearfield-based state police identified the man as George Lutchko, 41, of Madera. His seatbelt was not in use at the time of the accident at 5:38 p.m. Thursday in Woodward Township, Clearfield County.

According to the accident report, Lutchko was traveling southbound on West Hanna Street. His vehicle reportedly dropped off the right-hand side of the roadway, police said.

Police said that Lutchko attempted to regain control and return his vehicle to the roadway. His vehicle, however, spun out of control back onto and then off the roadway, where it struck a tree.
