Musser named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

After leading the Penn State women’s gymnastics team to a season-high 196.600 to take first place at a quad meet with Maryland, Rutgers and William & Mary, sophomore Sharaya Musser (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week. This is the second honor of the season for Musser.

Musser claimed the all-around title at Maryland, tying her season high with a 39.575. She also earned titles on floor, scoring a career-high 9.950, and on beam with a 9.925. Musser finished tied for third on vault with a 9.875 and fifth on bars with a 9.825.

What’s Next?

The Nittany Lions return to Rec Hall for two straight weekends on Feb. 26 when they host Ohio State at 1 p.m. The meet will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network and is a double dual with the Nittany Lion men’s team. Penn State remains at home to host N.C. State and Maryland on Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
