Obituary Notice: Eleanor Putt

Eleanor (Jones) Putt, 79 of Clearfield died on Feb. 22, 2011 at Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1931 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Victor W. and Ruth B.  (Litz) Jones. 

Mrs. Putt was employed for 27 years as a sales associate at the former Brody’s Department Store, Clearfield.  Prior to that, she was employed at WT Grants and JC Penney’s.

She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Women’s Club, the N.O.N. Club and the John Lewis Shade Post #6 Auxiliary of the Clearfield American Legion.  Mrs. Putt was also a volunteer at the Clearfield Hospital cottage and for the RSVP of Clearfield. 

She is survived by two sons,

      Larry A. Putt and wife Peggy                                            Clearfield

      William C. Putt                                                                  Hyde     

Three grandchildren:

      Sheri Daugherty and husband C. Andrew

      Stephen Putt and wife Michele

      Daniel Putt and wife Denise

Four great-grandsons;

Two brothers:

      Victor W. Jones and wife Linda                                        Lebanon, IN

      William L. Jones and wife Marietta                                 Shiloh

And several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil M. Putt on May 4, 1987   and whom she married Nov. 19, 1949 in Clearfield, her second husband Donald W. Kelly on Sept. 21, 2006 and whom she married Nov. 28, 1997 in Clearfield, a grandson Brian Allen Putt and two sisters, Laura Grace Hooven and Betty Jane Jones.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis and Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11:00 a.m.
