PHILIPSBURG — The Clearfield Bison and Philipsburg-Osceola Mountie wrestling teams ended the regular season Saturday night with the Bisons upping their record to 14-4 with a 41-22 victory. The Mounties, who were riding a four match win streak, ended the year at 6-10.
Both teams will now prepare for their post season tournaments, which begin next weekend. Clearfield will look to defend their District 9 crown when they head to Clarion University on Saturday; while the Mounties will head to Altoona on Friday to do battle in the always rugged District 6 tourney. Seedings for both squads will be released Tuesday night.
Picking up falls for the Bisons on Saturday night were Cody Lansberry (9-10), Derek Danver (28-6), Cliff Hill (22-4), and Shane Peters (27-3). Christian Stone (27-3) had a tech fall, while Dylan Graham (23-9) and Nolan Barger (25-7) each earned regular decisions. Kody Hepfer (3-1) received a forfeit.
