Police Investigating Cell Phone Incident at P-O Junior High

PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police are investigating a text messaging incident.

According to police, the incident occurred on Feb. 16. The station was alerted to an incident which is alleged to have occurred when a subject transmitted a partially nude photograph of themselves by cell phone to a fellow classmate and friend. 

Police said the actual event was committed outside of school hours but the person who initially received the photo then sent the photo via cell phone to another friend and classmate then showed the photo on the cell phone to several friends during school hours at Philipsburg-Osceola Junior High School.  The school district will impose sanctions as needed for rules violated during school hours.   The investigation continues.
