RIDGWAY TOWNSHIP – A Johnsonburg couple sustained moderate injuries following an alcohol-related, single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon and was transported to the Elk Regional Health Center for medical treatment.
The operator, a 37-year-old Johnsonburg man, will face charges pending blood test results, the Ridgway-based state police reported. Both the man and his passenger, a 60-year-old Johnsonburg woman, were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
According to the report, the man was traveling south on state Route 219 near Redmund Bros. The man lost control of his pick-up truck while negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway.
Police said his truck struck the guiderails off the west berm before rotating 180 degrees. At that time, his truck overturned onto its driver’s side. The truck sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Johnsonburg and Ridgway fire departments and emergency medical services.
