I-80 Traffic Stop Reveals Drugs, Paraphernalia

BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – A routine traffic stop turned up drugs and related paraphernalia at 9 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile marker 120 in Bradford Township, the Clearfield-based state police reported.

According to the incident report, a 38-year-old Mt. Clemens, MI man was stopped for a traffic violation on I-80. Because of “several indicators of criminal activity,” consent to search the vehicle was requested and denied, police said.

Police said a state police K-9 unit was deployed on the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a controlled substance. A search warrant was then obtained from the office of Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford of DuBois.

The search revealed a bag of marijuana, a small amount of hashish and associated paraphernalia, police said. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
